Tools to identify funders

The best tool for identifying funders that meet your projects aims and objectives are the CD ROMs from the Directory of Social Change (DSC).
The Grant-making Trusts CD-ROM 2006 and The CD-ROM Company Giving Guide can cost over £130 each, but they are well worth it. You can even include buying them in your first funding application. Alternatively, your local Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) may have a copy.

If you want regular updates on funders, DSC has two websites which have all the information on the CDs but are regularly updated. www.trustfunding.org.uk and www.companygiving.org.uk cost £150 for 12 months access but can be worth it if you are going to use them regularly.

Once Winzip is installed:

Download the zipped presentation into a folder on your pc.
Find the zip file and double click on it.
This opens the zip archive and will display a list of files.
Extract all the contents of the zip file into a folder on your pc.
Locate the folder and Double click on the Powerpoint file called “fundraising_pres.ppt
This will open Powerpoint.
Click “slide show” then “view show to start the presentation with narration.
Ensure your pc volume is switched on.
